Nelson Meese Kills Daughter, Nellie over strange Love Triangle

On January 12, 1938, Nelson Meese, a World War Veteran, was said to be in love with his 17 year old daughter, whom he barely knew. Lead him to kill her than himself, both were shot with a homemade pistol. Nellie was shot in the back of the head, he reloaded and shot himself in the forehead. Their bodies where laying side by side in the girls living room. Her mother and another person found them when they returned home after work.

Nelson and the girls mother, separated after she found out she was pregnant over 17 years ago and he just met her the year before and fell in love with her. A note was found in Nellie's purse saying that he was in love with her and he didn't want to leave her.

Friends of Nelson, had said that he had become mentally ill in the past year and had become mildly despondent at times during the last 3 months leading up to his death.

He was buried in the Redstone Cemetery in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennslyvania and Nellie was buried in Cochran Cemtery in Dawson, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
