Sergeant Louis Westcoat

Sergeant Louis Westcoat, of Brownville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania was report missing in action in Normandy since D-Day when he took part in the invasion as a paratrooper. He was a member of the 501st Paratrooper Division, Company D.

He was not the only one from his family in the War. His brother, Corporal James Westcoat was also reported to be a patient in a hospital in England at the time also. While his brother recovered as a patient. He did not.

Sgt Louis Westcoat was killed in Normandy on D-Day on June 6, 1944 was returned home for burial on July 17, 1949 to be buried in the Redstone Cemetery in Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
